Our artisans of the handcrafted copper lamps are the coppersmiths of the Kathmandu valley. Their ancestors are the craftsmen behind the intricate copper and brass work in the city’s temples. Using skills that date back to the 13th century, their work is one of the most striking features in the architecture of Nepal.

Handcrafted copper lamps

Kachuwa means the tortoise in Nepali. Known for its symbolic meaning of patience, wisdom and endurance, we reflect those aspects as an artistic affluent by creating a timeless piece that will withstand all trends and falls. The distinctive shape and intricate texture of the tortoise gave meaning to our design. The design evolved over a long period with sketching, brainstorming and testing at our studio in Kathmandu. In 2017, we created a collection of Handcrafted Home Decor together with our master artisan. The KACHUWA lamp is now with us as our signature product.
