Himalayan Nettle

The weaving of nettle fibres ‘Allo’ in the Himalayan hills of Nepal is an ancestral tradition. Wild nettle grows in abundance in the Himalayan foothills, reaching up to three meters in height. These bushes are cut down at their stem to obtain long fibres. The fibres are then spun and woven to make thread, ropes and weavings for clothes and bags.
